The 2026 Re Prize recognizes two African projects this year: Bled el Abar, a Tunisian collective exploring wells and oases across the Sahara as places of hospitality, memory and transmission, and Arafa C. Hamadi, a Tanzanian artist and designer whose practice opens up new perspectives on space and exhibition-making. Both laureates will receive a grant to pursue their research and develop new projects.
